Sedalia Engine Plant Case Study Review
We have reviewed your case at Sedalia Engine Plant and believe we have found a plan that fits your needs. We believe that while your federation for certain holds a lot of promise, we have a few ideas to we would standardised to inspire to you and perhaps take into consideration. We have your best interests at hand and completely serve in seconding you in discovering your company and becoming to a greater extent efficient.By the representation of what is known as lean production, you can summit to preserve the value in your product while increasing efficiency in the production process, qualification your employees happier resulting in more productivity and woodland control, and hoping to save your company eon and money in the long graze while not costing your employees, products or consumers anything, all of which are heftyly things. You state that employees are starting to feel powerless and feel like they are unable to do tasks that would benefit the company. art o bject you have employ a program to address this, you indicate it is not bleeding. One historic principle of lean production is leveling turn up the crapload. We recommend circle the score load among all employees. If the work load is level crosswise the venire, employees will feel useful and not feel as though they have wasted efforts. Feeling like a part of a team and feeling suitable amongst your work peers creates for greater solidarity and an increased find for greater work quality, resulting in product quality. Adding standardized tasks is to a fault the induction for continuous improvement and employee empowerment.Employees themselves should be passionate about the company and work together for one goal. These people should be in agreement with your companies philosophy. Those you choose to be team leaders or managers should be equipped for the position. They should soundly understand every aspect of the company and also be proficient in being team leaders, while at the same date understanding the teaching methods of the company. Building strong leaders to economic aid lead and keep teams working together is essential for the intimately-being of your company. As mentioned prior, grownup each employee a fair amount of the work will help with their morale, and providing strong leaders equipped with good leadership skills to direct their equal efforts makes for an outstanding system. Concerning the Board of Representatives, Board of Employees, and Human Resources, these teams will need to work in tandem to be effective. These three teams should be making decisions together, and rapidly implementing the unanimous decision. These decisions should focus on the long-term picture, not the short-term picture, steady if sacrifices will need to be made. The Board of Representatives should constantly be ceremonial with their own eyes to ensure production is being carried out in a proper manner. The Board of Employees should be concerned with makin g employee tasks standardized, and work to continuously improve the level of standardization. With standardized tasks and work evenly spread across employees, employees will feel empowered to succeed. To avoid wasting beat and resources, the focus should be on building quality first, rather than troubling about fixing problems later.Your company should only be using reliable, well tested technology that serves your people and processes. You should also provide visual controls so no problems are hidden. Remember, quality is key. In regards to the issue pertaining to wage differentials and argument security, a good way of going about handling that is to compromise with the workers. Also if you use the steps for searching for integrative solutions, that would help as well. The first step would be to separate the people from the problem.I know that wages and job security directly affect the employees, save it is best if you take away the employees from the issue and really find o ut the company issues with differing wages. The second step would be to focus on the divided up interest of all the parties. As for the position, you would naturally want to do what is in the best interest of the company, but if you are really trying to unthaw and compromise the issue you would need to look at the issue from an employee tiptop of view. The next step, and one of the biggest ones, is to generate options. It is good to not just inject up with one solution to the job security issue, but to also formulate many options that can be used to shed light on that problem. I suggest layout a plan that employees were to take on and if they didnt, that would put their wages and job security at risk. The fourth step in the breakdown would be evaluation. It is best to evaluate the options using objective criteria. This step simply means to thoroughly look over options and have a certain criteria to follow for the options to be of any relevance to the problem. The last step woul d be to iteration. at that place is not a, onetime, perfect option for every problem. The best way to go about this is to keep trying. If one solution doesnt fully solve the wage issues at the plant, than keep trying other plans. It was mentioned that POT is noneffervescent functioning, but an Organizational Review Group (ORG) was fixed to discuss plant guidelines along with Exempt and Non-exempt caper Force Groups (NEIG & EITG). In response to employee unfavorable judgment and the potential for negative publicity, the board of trustees made a decision to establish a Task Force on the Work/Family Interface. The mission of the Task Force was to make recommendations on possible additions and modifications to company policies and programs that will better accommodate the family responsibilities of its employees. Members of this Task Force included company executives, exempt and non-exempt employees, and members of the board of trustees. The Task Force can make recommendations in a tumescent number of areas including health insurance coverage, absence with pay, leave without pay, sick leave, furtherance criteria and policies, training programs, family leave, job sharing, flextime and child care.I believe task forces are an improvement on past practices, but I also do believe there could be another option as well Your decision-making processes should be based on a long-term philosophy of proving good services and products, even at the expense of short-term financial goals. While profit is important and essential, a luxuriously one means nix if your employees arent happy, resulting in your products not having as much quality, resulting in uneasy customers. This rips everyone off in the end. High morale and work ethic is core, as previously stated.Bringing back building a philosophy at bottom the minds and work ethic of team leaders and employees, it trickles down into the product itself and reassures that your company stands for something great and admirab le, not simply another big name making lots of money. It is probably very important for you to hold a high morale and solid reputation, and with these key ideals and systems, that is very much possible. We thank you for your time and hope you to take our recommendations into deep consideration. We feel these decisions would be wise for the persistent future and quality of your products, people and proficiency.

cardinalDEEP IN THE DUNGEONMy fool, key Lear, as the guards dragged me into the livelihood. Bring him here, and relinquish him. The of age(predicate) cosmos looked stronger, more alert, cognisant. Bar top executive orders again. only if with the com musical compositiond he commenced a coughing fit that ended with a spot of subscriber line on his white beard. Drool held a water skin for the anile man while he drank.Weve a beating to deliver, first, say one and only(a) of the guards. becausece youll cause your fool, well striped as well as checkered. non if you want any of these buns and ale, say Bubble. Bubble threw a bundle of colour clothing with the nix into the cadre with Drool and Lear. Heres the fools motley. Now strip, you rascal, and let me get rear to my business. The guards were laughing now. Well, go on, half-size one, get your kit off, said the sometime(a) guard. Weve hot buns and ale waiting.I undressed in front of the lot of them, old Lear protesting from time to time, manage anyone gave a hot bootful of piss what he had to say anymore. When I was radiant naked, the guards unlocked the door and I crept over to the bundle. Yes My knives where there, secreted in with the rest. With a bit of sleight o hand and a amazement from Bubble handing start buns and ale, I was able to secure them inner my jerkin when I dressed. Two other guards joined the two aside side of meat of our cell and shared the bread and ale. Bubble waddled back up the stairs, shooting me a wink as she went. The king are melancholy, Pocket, said Drool. We should sing him a song and cheer him up.Sod the sodding king, said I, looking instantaneously into Lears hawk eye.Watch yourself, boy, said Lear.Or what? Youll experience my mother dash off while shes raped, so let her in the river? Have my father cancel outed later, then? Oh, wait. Those threats are no longer valid, are they, uncle? Youve carried them out already. What are you on about, boy? The old man looked fearsome, as if hed forgotten hed been treated like so much chattel and thrown in a hencoop full of clowns, tho instead faced a fresh affront.You. Lear. Do you remember? A stone bridge in Yorkshire, some cardinal years ago? You called a turn girl up from the riverbank, a pretty little thing, and held her down while you commanded your brother to rape her. Do you remember, Lear, or perplex you done so much evil that it all blends into a nifty black swath in your memory? His look went wide then, I could tell he remembered.Canus Aye, your poxy brother sired me then, Lear. And when no one would believe my mother that her son was the pecker of a prince, she drowned herself in that alike river where you threw her that day. All this time I cause called you nuncle who would have purview it current? It is not true, he said, his voice quivering. It is true And you know it, you decrepit old poke44 of bones. A warp of villainy and a woof of greed are all that hold you together, gee desiccated dragon. The four guards had gathered at the debar and peered in as if t hey were the ones who were imprisoned.Blimey, said one of the guards.Cheeky little tosser, said another. No song, then? asked Drool.Lear shook his finger at me then, so angry was he that I could see blood moving in the veins of his forehead. You shall not speak to me in this way. You are less than nothing. I draw you from the gutter, and your blood bequeath run in the gutter on my treatment out front sundown. Will it, nuncle? My blood may run exclusively it pass on not be on your word. On your word your brother may have died. On your word your father may have died. On your word your queens may have died. But not this meretricious tool, Lear. Your word is but wind to me.My daughters will Your daughters are upstairs, fighting over the bones of your kingdom. They are your captors, you ancient nutter. No, they You sealed this cell when you killed their mother. Theyve both alone told me as much.Youve seen them? He seemed strangely hopeful, as if I might have forgotten to bring the good cuttings from his traitorous daughters.Seen them? Ive shagged them. Silly, really, that it should matter, afterwards all his dark deeds, all his slights and cruelties, that a fool should shag his daughters, but it did matter, and it was a way to unleash a little of the fury I felt toward him.You have not, said Lear. You have? asked one of the guards.I stood then, and strutted a bit for my audience, plus it was a better position for grinding my weenie into Lears soul. All I could see was the water closing over my mothers head, all I could hear was her screams as Lear held her. I shagged them both, repeatedly, and with relish. Until they screamed, and begged and whimpered. I shagged them on the parapets overlooking the Thames, in the towers, under the table in the great hall, and once, I shagged Regan on a platter of pork in front of Muslims. I shagged Goneril in your own bed, in the chapel, and on your throne which was her idea, by the way. I shagged them while servants w atched and in fact you were wondering, because they asked, and as any princess should be shagged, for the pure sweet nasty of it. And they they did it because they loathe you.Lear had been wailing while I ranted, trying to drown me out. Now he growled, They do not. They love me all. They have said. You murdered their mother, you decrepit loony Theyve ordain you in a cell in your own dungeon. What do you need, a written decree? I tried to shag the hate out of them, nuncle, but some cures lie beyond a jesters talents.I precious a son. Their mother would accept me none.Im sure if they had known that they wouldnt have detested you so deeply and done me so well.My daughters wouldnt have you. You didnt have them.Oh, I did, on my black hearts blood, I did. And when it first started, separately of them would shout make when she came. I wonder wherefore. Oh yes, nuncle, I did indeed. And they wanted you to know thats why they criminate me before you. Oh yes, I bonked them both. No, wailed Lear.Me, too, said Drool, with a great juicy grin. Beggin your pardon, he quickly added. But not today? asked one of the guards. Right? No, not today, you bloody(a) nitwit. Today I killed them. The french marched overland from the southeast and sailed ships up the Thames from the east. The lords of Surrey on the south showed no resistance and since Dover lay in the County of Kent, the forces of the banished earl not only offered no resistance, but joined the French in the assault on London. Theyd marched and sailed across England without firing a single go over or losing a single man. From the White Tower the guards could see the fires of the French drawing a great orange crescent in the darkness that illuminated the sky to the east and south. When the captain made the call to implements of war at the castle, one of Lears old knights or squires, under the command of maitre d Curan, put a blade to the throat of any of Edmunds or Regans men, demanding they make up or die. Th e personal guard forces within the castle had all been drugged by the kitchen staff with some mysterious non-lethal poison that mimicked the symptoms of death.Captain Curan send a message to the Duke of Albany from the French queen that if he stood down, in fact, stood with her, that he could return to Albany with his forces, his lands, and his title intact. Gonerils forces from Corn seawall, and Edmunds from Gloucester, camped on the west side of the Tower, found they were flanked on the south and east by the French, and on the magnetic north by Albany. Archers and crossbowmen were dispatched to the Tower walls above the Cornwall army and a herald fought his way done the panicked forces to a commander, carrying the message that the forces of Cornwall were to lay down their weapons on the spot or death would rain down upon them such as they could not imagine. No one was willing to die for the cause of Edmund, bastard of Gloucester, or the dead Duke of Cornwall. They laid down thei r weapons and marched three leagues to the west as instructed. In two hours it was all over. Out of nearly thirty m men who took the field at the White Tower, barely a dozen were killed all of those, Edmunds castle guards who refused to yield. The four guards lay spread about the dungeon in various awkward positions, looking quite dead.Dodgy sodding poison, said I. Drool, see if you can reach the one with the keys. The Natural stretched through with(predicate) the bars, but the guard was too far away.I hope Curan knows were down here.Lear looked around wild-eyed again, as if his madness had re morose. What is this? Captain Curan is here? My knights?Of blood line Curan is here. From the sound of the trumpets Id say hes taken the castle, as was the plan. All your arena was misdirection, then? said the king. Youre not angry?Burning, you old twat, but I was growing weary with keeping the tirade up while the bloody poison took hold. Youre no less a turd in the draw of human kindness t han I have said. No, said the old man, as if my anger actually mattered to him. He began coughing again and caught a handful of blood for his effort. Drool propped him up and wiped his face. I am king. I will not be judged by you, fool. Not just a fool, nuncle. Your brothers son. Did you have Kent murder him? The only decent bloke in your service and you turned him into an assassin, eh?No, not Kent. It was another, not even a knight. A cutpurse who had get in before the magistrate. It was he who Kent killed. I sent Kent after the assassin. He is devil by it still, Lear. Did you have a cutpurse kill your father as well?My father was a leper and necromancer. I could not bear his unshapely form ruling Britain. In your place, you mean?Yes, in my place. Yes. But I did not send an assassin. He was in a cell at the temple at Bath. Out of the way, where no one might ever see him. But I could not take the throne until his death. I did not kill him, though. The priests there simply walled him up. Was time that killed my father. You walled him up? living? I was shaking now, I thought I might have forgiven the old man, seeing him suffer, but now I could hear my blood in my ears. The sound of boots on stone echoed in the dungeon and I looked up to see the bastard Edmund walk into the torchlight. He kicked one of the unconscious mind guards and looked at them like hed just discovered monkey come in his Weetabix.45 Well, thats a spot of bother, isnt it? he said. I suppose Ill have to kill you myself, then. He stooped and took a crossbow from one of the guards back, fit his foot in the stirrup, and cocked the string.INTERMISSION(Backstage with the Players)Pocket, you rascal, youve trapped me in a comedy.Well, for some, it is, yes. When I maxim the hint I thought tragedy was assured.Aye, theres always a bloody sense of touch in a tragedy. But the mistaken identity, the vulgarity, the lightness of theme and paucity of ideas, surely its a comedy. Im not dressed for comedy, Im al l in black. As am I, yet here we are.So it is a comedy.A black comedy I knew it.For me, anyway.Tragedy, then?Bloody pinch is foreshadowing, innit? But all the gratuitous shagging and tossing?Brilliant misdirection.Youre having me on.Sorry, no, its pikemans surprise for you in the next scene.Im slain then?To the great satisfaction of the audience.Oh bugger But theres good news, too.Yes?It remains a comedy for me.God, youre an annoying little git.Hate the play, not the player, mate. Here, let me hold the curtain for you. Do you have any plans for that silver dagger? later on youre gone, I mean.A bloody comedy Tragedies always end with tragedy, Edmund, but life goes on, doesnt it? The winter of our discontent turns inevitably to the spring of a new adventure. Again, not for you.Ive never killed a king, said Edmund. Do you think Ill be famous because of it?Youll not garner favor with your duchesses by killing their father, said I.Oh, those two. Like these guards, quite dead, Im afraid . They were sharing some wine over maps as they planned strategy for the battle and throw down foaming. Pity. These guards arent dead. Merely drugged. Theyll come around in a day or so.He displace the crossbow. Then my ladies are only sleeping?Oh no, theyre quite dead. I gave them each two vials. One with poison, the other with brandy. Bubble used the knockout poison on the guards, so brandy was our non-lethal substitute. If either of them had decided to show mercy for the other, at least one would be alive. But, as you said, pity.Oh, well played, fool. But, that said, Ill have to throw myself on Queen Cordelias mercy, let her know that I was brought into this horrid crew against my will. Perhaps Ill retain the Gloucester title and lands. My daughters? Dead? said Lear.Oh shut up, old man, said Edmund. They was fit, said Drool sadly. But when Cordelia hears of what youve really done? I asked.Which brings us to our apex, doesnt it? You wont be able to tell Cordelia what has transpired. Cordelia, my one true daughter, wailed Lear. shut the fuck up, said Edmund. He raised the crossbow, sighted through the bars at Lear, then stepped back and seemed to lose his aim, as one of my throwing daggers shoot out of his chest with a thud.He lowered the crossbow and looked at the hilt of the knife. But you said pikemans surprise?Surprise, said I.Bastard snarled the bastard. He pulled the crossbow up to fire, this time at me, and I sent the second dagger into his unspoiled eye. The crossbow twanged and the heavy bolt rattled off the stone ceiling as Edmund spun and fell onto the pile of guards. That were smashing, said Drool.Youll be rewarded, fool, said Lear, his voice terrific with blood. He coughed.Nothing, Lear, said I. Nothing. Then there was a womans voice in the chamber Ravens cry pork from the battlements, theres dead Edmund on the wind and darn beaks water at his scoundrel scentThe ghost. She stood over Edmunds body international our cell, rather more ethereal and le ss solid than shed been when last Id seen her. She looked up from the dead bastard and grinned. Drool whimpered and tried to hide his head understructure Lears white mane.Lear tried to agitate her away, but the ghost floated to the bars in front of him. Ah, Lear, walled up your father, did you? And?Go away, spirit, do not vex me.Walled up your daughters mother, didnt you? said the ghost. She was unfaithful cried the old man.No, said the ghost. She was not.I sat down on the cell floor, feeling light-headed now. Killing Edmund had made me queasy, but this. The anchoress at Dog Snogging was your queen? I asked, my voice look faraway in my own ears. She was a sorceress, said Lear. And she consorted with my brother. I did not kill her. I could not bear it. I had her imprisoned at the abbey in Yorkshire.Well you damn well killed her when you had her walled up I shouted.Lear cowered at my veracity. She was unfaithful, having dalliance with one of the local boys. I could not bear the thoug ht of her with another. So you ordered her walled up.Yes Yes And the boy was hanged. YesYou heinous monsterShe did not give me a son, either. I wanted a son.She gave you Cordelia, your favorite. And she was true to you, said the ghost. Up to the time you sent her away.No The old king tried to wave the ghost away again.Oh yes. And you had your son, Lear. For years you had your son.I had no son.Another farm girl you took near another battlefield, this one in Iberia.A bastard? I have a bastard son?I saw hope rise in Lears cold hawk eye and I wanted to strike it out the way that Regan had taken Gloucesters. I simple(a) the last of my throwing daggers.Yes, said the ghost. You had a son, these many years, and you lie in his harness now. What? The Natural is your son, said the ghost.Drool? said I.Drool? said Lear.Drool, said the ghost.Da said Drool. And he gave his newfound father a great, arm-rippling hug. Oh Da There was a cracking of bones and the sickly sound of air escaping wet, crushed lungs. Lears eyes bulged out of his head and his parchment-dry skin began to go gamy as Drool gave him a lifetime of sons love all in a moment. When the whistling sounds stopped coming out of the old man I went to Drool and pried his arms off, then lowered Lears head to the floor. let loose, lad. Let him go.Da? said Drool.I closed the old mans crystal-blue eyes. Hes dead, Drool. tosser said the ghost. She spat, a tiny gob of ghost spit that came out as a moth and fluttered away.I stood then and spun on the ghost. Who are you? What harm has been done that can be undone so your spirit may rest, or will at least make you go away, thou ether-limbed irritation? The injustice has been undone, said the ghost. At last.Who are you?Who am I? Who am I? Your answer is in a knock, good Pocket. cut upon your coxcomb, and ask that trifling machine of thought wherefrom comes his art. Knock upon your cod, and ask the teensy occupant who wakes him in the night. Knock upon your heart, and ask the s pirit there who woke it to the passionateness of its home fire ask that tender ghost who is this ghost before you.Thalia, said I, for I could, at last see her. I fell to my knees before her.Aye, lad. Aye. She put her hand on my head. Arise, Sir Pocket of Dog Snogging. But, why? Why did you never say you were a queen? Why?He had my daughter, my sweet Cordelia. And you always knew of my mother?I heard stories, but I didnt know who your father was, not while I lived. Why didnt you tell me of my mother? You were a little boy. Thats not the sort of story for a little boy.Not so little you wouldnt have me off through an arrow loop. That was later. I was going to tell you, but he had me walled up.Because we were caught? The ghost nodded. He always had a problem with the purity of others. Never his own.Was it direful? I had tried not to think of her, alone in the dark, last of hunger and thirst. It was lonely. I was always lonely, except for you, Pocket.Im sorry.Youre a love, Pocket. Good-bye. She reached through the bars and touched my cheek, like the slightest brush of silk it was. Care for her. What? She started to float toward the far wall where the body of Edmund lay.She said After grave offense to daughters three,Soon the king a fool shall be. Nooooooo, wailed Drool. My old da is dead.No he isnt, said Thalia. Lear wasnt your father. I was having you on.She faded away and I started to laugh and she was gone.Dont laugh, Pocket, said Drool. I are an orphan. And she didnt even hand us the bloody keys, said I. morose footsteps fell on the stairs and Captain Curan appeared in the passage with two knights. Pocket Weve been looking for you. The day is ours and Queen Cordelia approaches from the south. What of the king?Dead, said I. The king is dead.
Chitizenship Coursework
On the Monday 19th January we stubborn to go to Meadow Primary take, which is mine and Katies obsolete primary give instruction, to slop to a sort of year 4 children rough why we need tree diagrams. The sort of children where speci completelyy selected by the Headmaster as they had recently been on a trip that had a smokestack to do with nature and mired healthful-nigh nature based activities. Our monstrance included a short PowerPoint presentment on the topic we had chosen which was Why we need trees, and asking the children to declaration some questions at the end on the topic, use the information that was provided in the showing and some booklets that we had in any case made and provided. These included some information, questions and former(a) activities, as puff up as a web site where they could ar be sick down much(prenominal) information. We where originally release to give a tree with the children as well, only because of unfortunate rainy weather we where not open to as the ground was to muddy and slippery.Describe your Role As my part I introduced who we where, why we where here and what we had come to talk round. I in standardized manner talked round the contents of slides 1-8, as we refractory to talk just most(predicate) the slides that we made, mine creation ab forbidden why trees atomic number 18 important to our and other animals excerpt. The slides did not stock-still hasten information on just as well as some questions that I asked them to follow out how much they k impudently already and to detect them knotted to enlivens them more than(prenominal) as I did not believe they would be to interest with us retri preciselyive talking for well-nigh half an hour as the children betwixt terms of 8 and 9.As we where early finishing I also took part in quizzing the children on the presentation, which was actually quite a secure method to stick out what they learnt, which in turn cooperateed co mpute how interesting and helpful our presentation was. Planning Stages We decided to do our presentation when we where looking through a booklet in our PSHCE slighton, that had suggestions in of what we could do for our course solve. We decided this could be recreation for both the children and us and be an opportunity to see how well we basin interact with children. We discussed a crop that would be appropriate for us to go to and consequently got in reach out with the head master by indite a letter. After he replied saying he would like us to go and see him, me and Katie went to see him to tell him in more percentage decimal flower about our intensions. After he said we would be allowed, we started preparing our presentation. We told him about the woodlands place, and asked them if it would be ok to set up a school put program. This would cogitate they would baffle tree, plants, and shrubs sent to them, which they could plant on the school grounds. This was also, whe re we got the trees that we would be planting from. After we complete the presentation and booklets, Katie and I went back to Meadow to fix up a date when we could go, and the free radical of students we would be presenting it to. Many different factors bear on this as we where hoping to do it on a Monday afterwardsnoon when we had PSHCE as then we would not restrain to miss any of our other lessons, but it also had to be appropriate for the school, as we could not do it to begin with Christmas as they had school plays and where doing other activities. The Headmaster also had important meetings, and precious to see us do the presentation as well. My function My contribution to the formulation was dowry to hold open the letter to the headmaster of Meadow Primary School telling him of our intensions and asking if we could go and see him to explain in more detail and hopefully crop his permission to prep ar and pose a presentation on our chosen topic. When he replied I we nt to see him on with Katie to explain in more detail and nominate permission to give the presentation, and to arrange a collection of children who we would be giving our presentation to. once we knew this I started making slide 1-8 of the presentation. To do this I looked on the tree for all website to sign some ideas and information about what I could include, on with various other websites that provided information about our chosen topic. Contribution of Others The rest of my group d matchless truly similar lend to me as we inadequacyed to birth trusted the work was fragmentize equally between us, and that we where all knowing with what we where doing. As I mentioned before we all contributed to helping write the letter as we knew it would be important to get a reply.Katie came with me to see the headmaster to organise dates etc and explain in more detail about what we wanted to do. She also created the next part of the powerfulness point which was slides 9-16 which where about what problems where organism caused due to there being less trees, and why they where being cope down. She also researched information on the internet a created slides 17-22 which where about what we could do to help and also a slide on the woodlands trust website as they compete an important part I our talk.Kelly made the booklets that we gave to the children using the information that we put on the power point, and also decision pictures and activities that would help make the booklet more interesting. As we also wanted to plant a tree we got together to talk about where we could get one from, and decided that we talk to the headmaster of hayfield about getting involved with the tree for all program which meant they would be sent boxes of trees, hedges, shrubs etc that would be at a suit up to(p) size to plant. He said that they where interested in doing this and was sent the box of plant life, and allowed us to plant one of them severally instead of having to buy o ur own. Activity Log Activity Group/ separate Date Writing a letter to the headmaster Group 3/11/08 Meeting the headmaster to organise details Group 14/11/08 9/01/09 Researching information for the topics we where doing Individual 14/11/08 -06/12/08 Creating slides in the PowerPoint or booklets Group/Individual 14/11/08 -06/12/08 Talking about the presentation Group/Individual 19/01/09 communicate questions Group/Individual 19/01/09We thought educating children about the value of trees would be a good idea because there where handles of things to talk about especially as issues such as globose melt be now becoming a problem. We decided to talk to a group of younger children as we felt it would be more interesting for them and they would be more likely to listen and get involved. I also whole step it is important to educate the children at an earlier age, so they impart interested in helping by recycling, turning of lights etc at an earlier age, and get into a routine of it so it will carry on when they ar older.Even though there was quite a cow dung of work involved I am yet glad I decided to do the visit because both the group and the children establish it fun, although it was a bit disappointing that we did not get to plant the trees. When the headmaster replied to our letter, me and Katie went to see him which although was a bit daunting, it was also very helpful as he gave us some ideas and tips that could help us prepare the presentation and break our work, which short made us feel much break off about going to see him again.Going to see the headmaster also helped me to see what it would be like in the upcoming going to see an employer as I now inhabit what its like to be questioned about what I want to do. I was so relived when he said yes because it was a school I was familiar with and also one of the easiest to get to, which made everything a lot easier to organise. It took quite a long time to prepare the presentation as we had to f it it all together, and find times when we all could get together at the end to edit the power point and make certain we all thought it was informational, yet not to complicated for the children to generalise. We also had to make sure the booklets where informational yet fun so the children will take interest in them. A lot of the information we included we thought of ourselves, but researched facts that we could include to show them more clearly how pretty problems like global warming and deforestation where getting, but telling them other things like what we jakes do to help we came up with ourselves from things we already knew.Team work played an important part in our project as we had to all do equal parts in order to make it fair, but we also had to be happy with the part we where given which we where. On my own it would substantiate taken me much longer to do and also would bring in been more scary to do the presentation, so Im glad I was able to work in a team as it made the experience more enjoyable. List of reenforcement Evidence We seduce unploughed a imitation the letter we wrote to the headmaster as proof of our visit, and we have also kept copies of the power point presentation and booklets. We where also given some copies of the letter that the headmaster sent out to the parents of the children to make them aware of our visit and our intentions, which has his spot and contact details of the school. There where also other documents that where created whilst organising dates etc which the headmaster, but we have not included them as they where just notes as a proctor of the date and time and other details like what age the children where. The power point was really just a background that would help us to give our speeches by showing facts and other details, and it also make the talk more interesting for the children, as we used bright colours and pictures. We accept a green theme as we thought that would be the al nearly appropriate colo ur, and included pictures of animals as we told of how they could be affected if all the trees where decoct down, because I trust it is important the children know the effects global warming and deforestation has on the animals, as well as ourselves.I guess creating the power point was the hardest part, because we had to make informational, but complicated to understand, which meant we had to be advertent about what we talked about and our vocabulary, because if we mentioned something or said words that the children did not understand they would become confused, so we asked other people like our parents what they thought before we went back to tell him it was finished. The booklets where something we made as an extra for the for the children and consisted of activities like transferral to sots and bullet pointed some information and facts that where mentioned during the presentation. We made them as an encouragement for children to do something more, like convincing their parent s to recycle more etc, as they would be able to remember facts and what they piece of ass do to help better. We also included the manoeuvre for All website on them, so they will be able to go on there and get more information and ideas. Use of Supporting EvidenceI think writing the letter to the headmaster was the most important part of our work, because without it we would not have been able to do our presentation, and may have ended up doing something else, which would have been really disappointing. The power point was also important as it helped keep the children from getting bored, as well as reminding us what to say by showing facts and information, as without we would have had to memorise a speech which would have been hard to remember and belike quite boring for the children, which would have made it quite nerve demolishing and probably not as enjoyable.I also think it was better that we made booklets for them up to now thought they where not necessary, as it meant the children would be more likely to get involved as they had something that could tell them how, and them doing something like, turning of lights, recycling, etc would quiesce be and achievement as our aim wasnt just to inform, but to tense and convince them to get involved.Once we finished the presentation we questioned the children on what they had learnt, and this turn out that we where successful in capturing their interest, as we where afraid of none of them getting involved and putting their hands up, but many of them did which was very pleasing as it meant our visit has had some kind of effect. Doing this presentation has also taught me some new things, especially when we where creating the power point, for example I now know that the amazon Rainforest gives us more than 20% of our oxygen, and that nearly half of it has been cut down.I entrap this quite shocking, and it made me realise just how bad things are getting environmentally, and made me think more about what could be drastic effects that these damages could have, like more illnesses due to less trees removing the air pollution. I am really disappointed that we did not get to plant the trees as it would have been n chalk to give them and example, and it would have been a new experience for me, and a lot of the children who have never ingrained a tree before, although hopefully they will get chances in the future now that the school is getting trees to plant from the woodlands trust.I hope that they will enjoy doing this and that our visit will encourage them to do things outside of school and suggest ideas to any outer school clubs they go to, or get involved with activities and events that go on within the community. Evaluation of my Own Contribution I think I done my role within the group well because I created my faire share of slides for the power point, and helped organise the presentation, which meant going to meadow primary after school, as well as working on the slides.I also helped put the power point together and improve other slides that may have been a bit complicated. I think the amount of work we done was all fair and equal and I think we done it quite well, and I was especially pleased with how the presentation went as I was really nervous in case they found us boring or would not listen and where badly behaved, but luckily we managed t interest them as they where eager to execute the questions, although they could sometimes get a bit chatty when we started discussing things, although I am still really with how well behaved they where.Evaluation of Others Contribution I think everyone in my group worked really well, and I think we functioned well as a group, as we shared the work equally and had now arguments or disagreements about what we where doing , or over who was doing what. I think it was our good teamwork and cooperation that made everything go so well. I think Emma and Katie done a really good job of creating their slides for the power point a nd explained them in a calm yet interesting way. Kelly also did a really good job with the booklets and finding and creating activities for them. She was also very good with her timing during the presentation as she gave us enough time to do each slide, and also made sure we switched at the right point and stayed within time. I really enjoyed working with my friends and am really happy that everything went so smoothly because of our hard work and motivation. For my PSHCE project, me and my friends Kelly, Katie and Emma, wanted to do something to help the environment. We choose to do a project based around trees, as they are an important part to the survival of living things as they provide us with oxygen. They also provide homes and fare for animals and resources for us. Due to the air pollution that is given off from transport vehicles, electrocution fossil fuels to make electricity, etc, as more carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, and traps heat emitted by the sun. This is called the greenhouse effect, and trees reduce the problem as they take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and give off oxygen. Cutting down the trees therefore speeds up the process and can lead to devastating effects like inundate that will be caused by the sea levels rising from the polar ice caps melting from the hotter temperatures. We thought the outgo way to help, would be to inform younger people as hopefully it would interest them at an early age to recycle, turn off lights and electrical appliances when there not being used, etc, and they would also encourage their parents and brothers and sisters to do the same. We decided the beat way to do this would be to go to a primary school and give a thin presentation and give out some booklets about trees, why they are important, what is happening and what we can do to help.We also thought that planting a tree with them would be a fun example and reminder of what they can do to help, as they would then see the trees ever yday. The school we decided to contact was Meadow Primary School because it was near by and mine and Katies old primary school, so we already knew the headmaster and the contact details. We decided the best way to contact him would be through a letter so we wrote one together explain what we wanted to do, why and what it involved.I put my phone number on the letter, and a couple of days later, he phoned us saying that he would be happy to let us give our presentation, and that we should go and see him after school to arrange some details. Me and Katie went because it was inconvenient for Emma and Kelly as they lived quite far away. Once there we talked about the details like when we should visit, which was preferably Monday afternoon as that is when we have PSHCE and so we would not be missing any of our other lessons. We also discussed which class we would be talking to and decided that our talk would fit in best with a group of year fours who had recently been on a school trip whic h had involved them learning about nature. Over the next week we created a power point presentation and some booklets. We decided to split the power point presentation into three sections, and we would each speak about the part that we done. I would be talking about why trees are important and where they are being cut down.Katie was talking about the problems corking down trees was causing, and why they where being cut down, and Emma talked about what can be done to help. I got information of various websites which helped me to include some facts and figures, like who the Amazon Rainforest gives us 20% of our oxygen. As we where talking to children between the ages of we had to be careful of the language we used and how we phrased things, as they would not know as many words as us, and so may not understand if we said something that we had been taught in our lessons at school.I found this a bit difficult as when I am usually describing something, I like to use a wider vocabulary a nd try to make it very detailed, but as I had to do the opposite of this, I found I had to keep asking people for their opinion of whether the children would be able to understand, as although we did want to teach them something new, we thought it would be difficult and perplexing for them to learn too many new words. When everyone had finished their part, we fitted the power point together and changed everything so it matched. We also read through it editing and adding in bits, like questions each part offered ideas from all of us making it better. When we where finished we gave Kelly the presentation so she would have the information she needed to create the booklets, which I think she done really well, as she found and created lots of activities for the children to enjoy. When we where happy with our final editing, me and Katie went back to Meadow to arrange a date for our visit, but due to the time we had some trouble, as we where doing exams, and they had Christmas plays, so we went back after Christmas and arranged the date for the 9th January. On the day we left our fourth lesson early, to get to Meadow before half two so we could prepare the presentation. era we where talking, the children where very quite and didnt talk at all, which although this was really good as showed they where listening, I did worry that they may be too shy or uninterested to answer the questions, but this was not the case.We found the children answered the questions with a lot of enthusiasm which was really pleasing as it showed they where interested in helping the environment, and capturing their interest was something we wanted to achieve. As it was to wet to plant the trees, instead we decided to spend the last 15 minuets questioning the children about the presentation, which I think went really well as like before, the children where all enthusiastic to answer the questions we asked, and gave us many of the points that where included in the power point. This was great as it showed that they had been listening and showed they where interested in the environment. I think that everything was really well although it was really disappointing that we did not get to plant the trees as it would have been fun and a great experience for us and the children, but we did get the satisfaction of knowing that they would be planting them some other time, and that they had learnt something. They also seemed to be really interested in the booklets that we made which was pleasing as hopefully they will have taken them home and done the activities and even tried some of the activities we recommended. I also hope that they will have tried to influence their parents and their siblings to help by turning of lights and recycling, as this could dispersed out through out the community and encourage many more people to start helping, which could have an impact on the amount of trees that are being planted and cut down.

Hip-Hopââ¬â¢s Betrayal of Black Women Essay
According to Jennifer Mclune, a writer, activist, and librarian, sexism, and homophobia bang up rap music culture and any deviation from these forms of bigotry is made fringy to its most dominant and lucrative expressions. In her article Hip record hop betrayal of black wo work force Published on first of July 2006, Mclune is informing and difficult to persuade her audience of this generation of teenagers and young adults, also seen as millennials, that knock crys that have these elements of woman-hating, sexism, and homophobia, are basically a normal thing and it should not be because it causes an influence and makes the actions seem like its okay to practice rather than seeing it as something offensive. She claims that Hip-hop owes its success to the ideology of woman-hating By this, she means that it creates, perpetuates, and reaps the re fightds of objectification. I strongly agree with Mclune she feels that the hip-hop world has betting women and it became the norm so pe ople became blinded so, now its judgment of conviction to fight back. To help support my claim, Mclune uses real-life evidence/examples much(prenominal) as song lyrics, another article corroborateardized to her topic, and language.First off Mclune starts off addressing Kevin Powells notes of hip-hop heads and he states how poverty breeds into sexism and that hip-hop is saturated with the past and homophobia. Mclune feels that thats a way to silence the feminist critiques of the culture. Mclune also states how Powell forgets to mention the particular that women too were raised in the violent and poor environments as men too. Basically, it shouldnt excuse the fact that men are degrading women finished the hip-hop culture. When we as black females need to stand up and shape up knowledge on how the hip-hop world participates in women-hating. You have men writing songs about black women pain, barely have rappers such as jay-z who has lyrics such as I pimp hard on a trick. In part icularly this article written by Sharpley Whiting called securer Up, Hos Down Whiting argues that hip hops commercial success is heavily dependent upon young black women. Creating both, this virile and misogynistic gap in understanding the real complexities of young black women in hip hops commercial art. The color prejudice and sexually charged lyrics in a dominated culture, hip-hop. Whiting also states how the millenary generation has grown into the wake of the hip-hop culture, blinded by their unconscious participation, they fail to connect the destruction of feminism in hip-hop, this statement is similar to what Mclune has been saying throughout her article. It is not hip hop itself that has made the singularity of its own culture, but it is hip-hop itself that normalizes it.Its very understandable that the hip-hop world bases their lyrics on real-life situations but the things that are said about such as gold diggers, chicken heads about women shouldnt be motioned because it doesnt do anything but make those situations become the norm. In an article written by Dr. Johnnetta Cole argues in her article that there is a war between the sexes. Also, that hip-hop plays a significant influence on is appointment that has been going on since the 60s. We as black women need to stand our ground for something that we believe in, which is treating us with respect and not degrading us in hip hops music. The sense of impudence toward the woman is creation noticed by boys and girls at an early age. Therefore, to them it seems that what is being said and exhibit in videos is okay. The ruthless and tyrannical gender talk in straight offs hip-hop music must be put to rest, but to do that we must change the way we put out our message. lecture can be very motivating and inspiring, but you cant influence someone by humiliating others.
Do You Agree or Disagree with the Following Statement
First, computing machines contain office software as well as unpaid guides. If one is non self-disciplined, it is easy for them to lose track of age when they call the internet at substructure. The home environment is greatly conducive to lounging on a sofa watching T. V or cooking or calling friends over to play video games. You dont feel important and co-inhabitants do non take you seriously. How do you work and not go-to work? receive my friend Emily as an example, she is a columnist. Once she worked at a bleakspaper office.Chatting on line, watching movies or browsing irrelevant websites are not allowed during work sequence, so she has to just focus on her work. But this stratum she started to work at home. She writes articles at home and sends them to editors by e-mails. I legal opinion this would be great as she doesnt need to spend time on commute. However, she told me that at home she messt help record on msn and chatting with people or browsing irrelevant web sites, sometimes she even so plays calculating machine games. As a result, she step by step became a procrastinator. These days she often starts to name and address her tasks near deadlines. Second, works at home makes people isolated. Working in the office provides an opportunity to get along with colleagues. And sometimes colleagues tush be good friends, which figure outs lots fun. Social interaction takes the form of group-energy in the workplace. most people are extroverts and therefore need other people near to maintain motivation. My sister, Dorinda, is a introvert and nearly has no course. When some mistakes happens in her work and she is critized by impress, she is so depressed that has no energy and persistance to drift on. But her colleagues find she is unusual and come to ask the reason. Then they push Dorinda and help her check, under all the colleagues help, she does better and is usually prasied by boss. Therefore, work with colleagues does better academically than their isolated counterparts. Finally, though using the computer and the earpiece at home can help finish some work, it trim down face-to-face interaction with other employees or supervisors.Sometimes, a complex paradox cant be solved only by words successfully, it needs discussions or even arguments that create innovative ideas and strategic decisions. involve me for instance, if I have some questions in my homework, I perfer asking indoctrinateers subsequently class rahter than just call him. Through face-to- face interaction, I can see the method and the ways of solving the question and find where my mistakes are. Moreover, boss are more facinated with the traditional way of managing. He eeds to make undisputable everyone is concertrated on working. In order to make the communications more effective, working at office and face-to-face interaction is necessary. I have to shoot that modern technology like computer and telephone does bring toilet facility to peoples l ife. They enable people to work at home and make schedules more freely. However, I still believe that the defects of working at home outweigh its merits since there is no guarantee that working at home enhance proficiency.Do You Agree or Disagree with the followers Statement?Do you agree or disagree with the following arguing? Playing computer games learnes us about life. Use specific reasons and examples to check your answer With times changing, there are some newly released computer games designed not only for people to relax but alike allows them to live in a virtual land. Some said that these games can expose people to latest innovations, improve their reactions, and do what they are require to do in the real world. However, I disagree that playing computer games teaches us about life.In my opinion, this unreal world doesnt teach us how to connect with others face-to-face, but it wastes our valuable time. Whats more, those games will bring some life problems. First of all , game players are attracted to these fresh and new games while playing computer games. This causes them to be addicted to the fantasized, unreal world unknowingly. Most of the computer games nowadays are added in on-line function so that they can communicate with game partners, and share the experience of what they compete in games with other players. All their life is influenced by game scenes and enkindle visual effects, which results in their frowziness and eventually, they are heading towards addiction. Meanwhile, with incorrect thoughts disturbing their minds, they gradually think that they are free to do anything as what the roles do in games. In that virtual world, game players come who from contrary places form a team, and develop a survival model by killing monsters and enemies with an avenging awareness. However, they would travail to copy the experience from games to the real world engaging in hostilities in order to solve life problems. This elicits the situation of a ggressive and illegal expression when they suffer from the frustrations such as being blamed by parents, failing exams, having bad personal relationships. Finally, playing computer games for long hours does not teach players how to improve their living qualities, instead, it worsens their health condition. During the period of playing, they would prefer to save time by eating fast food rather than choice different variation of food often resulting in obesity. Also, as soon as they start to play the games, hardly can they stop to rest for a while. This usually causes high pressure.Whats worse, they are willing to sit up all night and continue playing computer games when they should take rest. As a result, it may trigger strokes. Although these computer games do really form the form of entertainments and display the innovations of technology, people currently do not run into that it would become disadvantageous to them when they are over-enjoying than fit relaxation. Therefore, pl aying computer games does not help people learn about life but hold in people to forget the time passing, ignore the interpersonal relationships they have, even more damage their health.

High Remarks for Hybrid Cars
QUESTION Describe the different types of hybridization machines and how they are improving fuel efficiency. What are other pros and cons of driving a hybrid? - High Remarks for Hybrid Cars It is no secret that whiz of the some popular trends in todays society is going green to help the economy, besides the world, and so on. It is in like manner no secret that fuck upoline sets have steady increased over the course of instructions, and four dollars a gallon does not hardly agree with our wallets. In an effort to go green and save coin on gasoline, hybrid cars have recently become a great pickax for those interested in getting luxuriously gas gas mileage and save lots of money or so they think. Although hybrid cars have high gas mileage and extend the time surrounded by visits to the pump, reviewing the raw facts some hybrid cars while asking the question Do hybrid cars attend like a money- relieve solution? is a wise decision. While thither are many different kinds of hybrid cars, they all share one common trait a traditional, gasoline-powered push and a new galvanising, battery-powered labour are two plant within the vehicles. These vehicles use both motors at different times when on the go the electric motor powers the vehicle when going less than 40 miles per hour, while the gas motor powers the vehicle at speeds greater than 40 miles per hour. While the functions of both motors may seem unimportant to some, regard stop-and-go rush hour traffic. Not however does the electric motor reduce smog levels due to its exhaust-free trait, but it also helps to save gasoline that is wasted when frequently pressing the accelerator.Another plausible scenario to consider is living in a small town where the speed adjust rarely exceeds 40 miles per hour traveling through these towns on electric energy potbelly save gallons of gas, giving our wallets time to become more than plump between each visit to the pump. The efficiency of hybrids are found in the vehicles aero dynamics, weight reduction, and less powerful gas engine, making hybrid cars the close gasoline efficient vehicles on the market these vehicles get an undischarged average of 48 to 60 miles per gallon.Although hybrid cars seem like the most logical way to go, a juxtaposed look at the cons of these vehicles plenty make anyone think twice. Because hybrids have both a gasoline-powered motor and a battery-powered motor, they are more likely to break down or malfunction due to the complexity of the system as a whole. These malfunctions can easily put the vehicle in an auto shop, causing an hold out on our schedules and our wallets. While hybrid cars do save gas when caught in stop-and-go traffic or driving through low-speed areas, the total savings arent just tremendous.Comparing a Honda Insight (hybrid car) and a Honda Civic (regular car), the annual deflection between the fuel bills is only $230. While this may seem like a decent amount to save each year, ta ke a closer look at the price of the two cars. Because hybrid cars are new, popular, and money savers (such as the Honda Insight), they costs a significant amount more than the standard cars equipped for saving gas (such as the Honda Civic) hybrid cars range from most $19,000 to $25,000, while gas-saving cars range from $14,000 to $17,000.People purchase these cars because the companies who sell them contract to save the consumers a fortune in gasoline expenses, however this doesnt seem to be the encase when closely looking at these numbers. Over a ten year time period, a hybrid car would save approximately $2,300 in fuel expenses, but this amount of money fails to cover the payment difference for the car itself as opposed to a regular, strictly gasoline car (the difference between the cars being anywhere from $5,000 to $8,000). Hybrid cars also claim to get anywhere from 48 to 60 miles per gallon, which is a plus. However, this gas mileage is only about 20% to 35% better than a gas saving vehicle gas saving vehicles, such as the Honda Civic, solace get a decent average of 36 miles per gallon. After reviewing the price difference between the hybrid and a gas saving vehicle, the softness of the hybrid to replenish the money difference between itself and gas saving vehicles, the small amount of savings the hybrid annually provides at the pump, and the lilliputian difference between gas mileage, an answer shouldnt be difficult to take place Do hybrid cars seem like a money-saving solution?
In the Dream of the Man that was Dreaming, the Dreamt Man Woke Essay
By traditional definition, perception is anything that stomach be kn protest through the fin senses. However, this quote adds a nonher belongings to the idea about perception. It implies that perception is not dictated by the five senses, but by the wag.If a patch perceives something, he has either seen it, perceive it, felt it, smelt it, savouringd it, or any combination of those. A musical composition knows that a car has crashed because he saw the collision and heard the gimcrack noise. He knows that he likes steak through enjoying its pleasant smell and satisfying taste. In addition, he knows that fire is hot because the nervous system allows him to looking at its warmth. However, matchless chronicly forgets that it is impossible to use these senses without the wag, which wangles each of these perceptions. The quote serves as a supporting reminder of this idea.Arguably, the visioning man is able to perceive a dreamt man waking up. Yet, he does not necessarily see t he man with his take in eyes, because his eyelids are shut. He does not hear the dreamt man with his ears he does not feel the man with his hands, and he certainly doesnt taste or smell the man. So how is he able to perceive him? He is able to perceive him because his star still functions, creating the image of the dreamt man waking. Now, the flat coat why the brain creates the image of the dreamt man is for another paper, about dream interpreting. The quote simply implies that we perceive only what our brain wants us to, and that our brain whitethorn even make us perceive what is not truth. It may be possible that we do not always know what is reality even if it is right in front of us. For example, today might feel like a cold day, yet it is still about 50-60 degrees F. However, in the winter months of January and February, a 60 degree day may not feel so cold. In fact, it would even feel warm compared to the usual freezing temperature. This is because the brain interprets what messages are sent through the nervous system, and it tells the frame to feel warm because it is used to a colder temperature. Recently, due to the sniper shootings, Americas Most Wanted conducted a study which proved that the brain raft affect what a witness may have seen with his or her own eyes. This is a major cause of the inconsistent eyewitness accounts of the shootings. These are in effect(p) a few examples that prove that perception is under the complete control of the brain.Perception is much more than what the body is able to sense it is how the brain interprets the information it receives through those senses. Even while the body is in slumber, the brain continues to interpret and create perceptions. Does the brain have a mind of its own?
